Twitter and Elon Musk have been facing some challenging times recently. Threads, a new competitor from social media and tech giant Meta has emerged, posing a threat to Twitter's popularity. Adding to Twitter's concerns, recent data indicates a decline in user traffic on the platform.

The CEO of Cloudflare shared a thread on Twitter with a graph displaying DNS data, which clearly shows a downward trend in user traffic on Twitter since July 2023. The numbers hit an all-time low in the last week of July, marking a significant decline over the past six months.

On the other hand, Threads has experienced tremendous success since its launch. It has garnered nearly 100 million downloads and is emerging as a true rival to Twitter in terms of features and functionalities.

A report by Sensor Tower reveals that Indians have downloaded the Threads app the most, surpassing all other countries. India accounted for approximately 22% of the total downloads, followed by Brazil with 16% and the United States with 14%. The data also indicates that on the first day of its release, 25% of the downloads were on iOS devices, while the remaining 75% were on Android.

The integration with Instagram has played a significant role in Threads' popularity. Users can log in to Threads using their Instagram account without the need for a separate account. Upon downloading and opening Threads, it automatically displays the user's Instagram handle for a seamless login experience. As long as users have Instagram installed and are logged in on their phones, no password is required.

Meanwhile, Twitter implemented limitations on the number of tweets users could read in a day, citing data scraping prevention as the reason. However, it is unclear whether these limits are still in place or have been modified.
