As per some reports, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning to deploy police officials in uniform as well as casual outfits in the Delhi Metro. After a recent breakout by people and media on banning people for unruly and inappropriate behavior inside the metro, the authorities have decided to take the much-needed step.

What is it all about?

DMRC has come to this decision in light of recently happened shocking events of inappropriate behavior inside the Delhi metro. In the last two months, a number of videos surfaced showcasing “objectionable” incidents inside the metro coaches. In one of the most shocking videos, a passenger was caught masturbating in public inside the metro.

Not just that, people have complained about fellow passengers who were not appropriately dressed and many who have tried to record reels inside the metro. Understandably, these situations are troublesome for the passengers. Not to mention, that the Delhi metro sees close to 5 million passengers daily of all ages, races, and cultural backgrounds.

No more PDAs and inappropriate behavior

In action against the recent shocking events, DMRC has decided to take this step to put an end to such incidents. Passengers will be informed that they are not allowed to kiss or show PDAs which is sensible as there are kids of every age traveling in the metro.

This action will also stop the frequent incidents of molestation that are reported in the Delhi metro. The man in uniform will keep a close eye on each coach of the metro and catch the victim right away if they are seen engaging in any inappropriate behavior.

But why is there a ban on creating reels?

As a matter of fact, photography and videography have always been banned inside the Delhi metro. However, still, lakhs of people take their phones out to record something or the other. Coming to the topic in focus, there will be a ban on dancing inside the metro or shooting reels as this can be uncomfortable for other passengers.

Delhi Metro is one of the busiest metro lines. At times, a metro coach is so full that it’s difficult to move your body around freely. In such a scenario, imagine the discomfort other passengers would feel if someone is dancing amidst them. Not just that, even playing music inside the metro has always been prohibited.

Another factor contributing to a ban on reels is the fact that fellow passengers who are captured in the background against their consent have a genuine reason to be upset.
