‘The Royals’

Netflix India’s upcoming romantic-comedy series, 'The Royals' is a coming-of-age narrative that portrays the traditional scenario of a commoner and royalty falling in love. It will be eight episodes long, bringing contemporary Indian royalty to life with grandeur and romance.

As per the press release for ‘The Royals,’ the synopsis stated:

“When an entitled Prince Charming meets a startup whiz, it’s inevitable that they will bump heads! Will their ambitions collide, two worlds clash, or even spark a surprising romance?”

The Star-Studded Cast

The creators announced the cast by posting a video on Netflix India's Instagram account featuring the series' stars, check out the video here.

Sumukhi Suresh couldn't contain her excitement after the unveiling of the star-studded lineup, as she reposted the video and wrote, “2024 for me started with acting in this insanely massively beautiful show with the juiciest ensemble ever. #Royals by @pritishnandycommunications @rangitapritishnandy @ishitapritishnandy has been the most unexpected gift I have received. The story of how I got to do this, is something @kimsharmaofficial @panchamighavri and I will talk about forever.”

The outstanding cast includes Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar (who will be making her web-series debut in this role), Chunky Panday, Nora Fatehi, Sakshi Tanwar, Milind Soman, Dino Morea, and Lisa Mishra among others. Veteran actress Zeenat Aman will also make a significant appearance.

This new role is a major triumph for Sumukhi, who just wrapped up a successful run of her critically acclaimed show ‘Hoemonal’ at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Though the show’s premiere date is yet to be revealed, it promises to dazzle and delight!
